Andreas Unteidig, one of the MAZI Project partners, presented work on hybrid tools for public articulation at a This Happened event in Edinburgh in April 2016. This Happened is a series of events about interaction design, with a focus on work that uses a new approach or explores a new process. Andreas discussed a series of projects undertaken at the Design Research Lab at the Berlin University of The Arts, which works on interdisciplinary design research projects that mediate the gap between technological innovations and people’s real needs. The projects Andreas presented included The Hybrid Letter Box, that transfers a hand-written message to a digital platform so that issues can be spread effectively, and publics can form around discourse possibly emerging around them.
